How to Build a Proxy Site
By Sturat Mitchel

Before creating a proxy site you need to have domain name, web hosting space & new proxy templates. After sorting out all these issue, you will have to edit and install your proxy scripts. There are two most commonly used proxy scripts PHProxy and Zelune. The editing process for all the scripts is same, no matter it is PHProxy, PHPhantom, Zelune or any of the other proxy script. You will have to download the same file, no matter which template you are going to use; rest to the editing method is same for all script.

First you will have to open the config file in any of the editing program. Once you have opened that file you will see a lot of text which may appear a bit confusing to you, do not bother. You will have to only edit the Title tag, Meta description tag, Meta keywords tag, Site description tag, Layout title tag, your site URL tag and the Ad Sense id number at the bottom. That's it. Here we will discuss editing each part through numbering each part.

This is the Title tag of website, which appears in the tab during surfing the website. You can change Title according to keywords, which will be used in search engines.

Next is Meta tag, in which we store most, searched daily keywords relevant to proxy sites to make better searching through search engines. Proxy is one of the top keywords with 5500 searches a day. Keep it at a maximum of 25 keywords. It will be your page description, viewed on the proxy page. All the keywords written in the Meta tag are copied from this page tag.

When you go to downloading proxy templates, then you are asked to add the website URL in the config file. It is very essential to add, since it maintains the proper functioning of website. Last step is to find Google account ID, so if you have an Ad Sense Google ID, then you can find it in the account tab. You will have to write down it at the bottom of page, where required. It will look something like "jk-pua-xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx". At the end make sure you have entered all these details.

Next we need to open the index.inc.php file, make sure not to get this mixed up with the index.php file. The index.inc.php file is very simple to edit, most of the editing can just be copy and pasted from the config.php file we have just edited. All you need to do is make sure you put in all these details within either the index.inc.php file or the config.php file.
